The African Union (AU) has defined the African diaspora as people of native African origin living outside the continent, irrespective of their citizenship and nationality, and who are willing to contribute to the building of the African Union.
It is without a doubt that the first African descendants who come to mind when thinking of Africans outside of the African continent are African-Americans in the Unites States of America, but did you know that outside the US, many people of African origin can be found in the entire Americas as a whole? And now, in some parts of Europe as well, where they are also natives of those countries.
We can note that the African diaspora is the result of both the transatlantic slave trade and voluntary migration. The following countries have the majority of African bloodline outside of continental Africa:
